Sydney House was designed for a corner block of land with a Northerly aspect. The brief for the home was to look aesthetically pleasing from both street frontages with a Mid-Century Modern style to it.
The home was to be mainly white with splashes of spotted gum timber integrated both externally & internally.
Externally, the garage doors became one of the main features of the side street elevation. The garage doors were engineer designed & custom made by B&D doors. Extra strength was needed to carry the special Biowood Castellation Cladding in a Spotted Gum finish. James Hardie Woodgrain Axon was used for the homes main cladding with spotted gum soffits.
The home has a free-flowing feel, moving easily from inside to outside entertaining & pool areas. A large bedroom downstairs with an ensuite & walk-in-robe, was incorporated, to accommodate guests or residents who are unable to climb stairs every day.
The upper level was designed with 4 bedrooms, the master bedroom having a retreat like feel with a large luxurious ensuite & dressing room. A long hall separates the Master from the other bedrooms with a view from the bridge like hall looking through the modern white cone shaped light fittings from LAAL & out the tall windows opposite the void over living areas.
Tranters Avenue is a very Quirky abode, designed to blend beautifully into it’s natural bushland setting.
