Major Renovation, Ormiston

Things have changed a lot in home design in the last 30 years. While the original home did not take advantage of its location Ashley Lindon of Lindon Homes has opened the views right up with large windows and a spacious balcony perfect for Queensland’s alfresco lifestyle.

This major renovation, resulting in a complete transformation of the home, something that Ashley is familiar with, having done several such projects over the years. The top floor houses an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with flooring in select grade blackbutt with a satin finish. The kitchen has been done in a two pack satin finish in Dulux Natural White and Resene Triple Dune with Caesarstone benchtops, taking in the views across to Cleveland Point and Stradrbroke Island. The mirrored splashback adds a touch of glamour whilst reflecting the view and even more light into the space. Bifold doors open out onto the deck and the view. In fact the whole space has a wonderful open and bright feel about it, quite different from how it was previously.

The guest room and the main bedroom are upstairs. The main bedroom has a stylish open ensuite and looks out to the view as well. A striking glass and timber staircase by Arden Architectural Stairs continues the light and open feel of the home. Downstairs has two large bedrooms with walk-in robes, study and media and entertaining room with a large bar that opens out to the stunningly renovated pool area. The paint colours have been repeated downstairs but used more lavishly, giving the entertaining area a more moody feel.

The pool was renovated with waterline tiles and pebblecreting. An elevated pavilion in the pool area is accessed by a timber walkway from the house and lends the area a resort-like feel.
